What constitutes being the best deodorant?

The best deodorant needs to be:

A safe deodorant that actually works

A safe deodorant that is fertility friendly

A safe deodorant that is pregnancy friendly

A safe deodorant that does not cause hormone imbalances

A safe deodorant that does not have synthetic fragrances

A safe deodorant that does not clog your pores (making it more difficult for your body to detoxify – directly impacting your lymphatic drainage system)

A safe deodorant that is affordable

Is there is a deodorant that measures up to all these that I have not compared, feel free to submit a picture of the ingredients (or send me a link the the listed ingredients on their site) for me to double-check and inform others about too!

Before I delve into comparing 4 popular deodorants (from the US, UK and Europe), please note that I created another article listing some nasty toxic ingredients that you are to avoid in all your personal care/bathroom products (see here) so I won’t list those ingredients here.

For now, let’s get to the bottom of some popular deodorants and compare to see which ones are best. (Listed in alphabetical order):

Aesop Roll-On Deodorant Ingredients & Verdict

Made in Australia

Hailed as being beneficial for not having alcohol (meaning no sting).

It comes in a glass container which is s big plus, less exposure to xeno-oestrogens

It is the least effective out of all four deodorants (one to only use in the winter months).

In addition to coming last for effectiveness it also came in as the most expensive.

Ringanna Fresh Deodorant Ingredients & Verdict

Made in EU

A clear winner!!

It is the most effective out of all these four popular deodorants.

The third cheapest (or second most expensive, depending how you look at it, but as it is half the price of Aesop’s and you get 2.5x the amount it is a good value deodorant).

This cream deodorant feels very clean to touch and apply to your arm pits.

The fragrance is extremely subtle, in fact I don’t even notice it, which means it doesn’t compete with essential oils that I like to wear as a replacement to perfume.

What I love about this product is:

* states the ingredients from controlled organic cultivation

** means it is made using organic ingredients

All ingredients are 100 % natural and they explain all the scientific terms(!)

31.4 % of all ingredients are from “controlled organic cultivation” certified by Ecocert Greenlife in accordance with the COSMOS Standard
